There are over 1.5 billion websites online. But have you ever wondered why only a few websites come up with high results when you search for something? Hello everyone this is PS Kathait and today I will share with you what SEO is and how it works and the importance of SEO.

According to data from internetlivestats.com, there are more than 1.5 billion websites worldwide. But whenever you search for something, there are always a few websites that appear at the top of search results. Have you ever wondered why this happened? It is all because of SEO.
What is SEO or Search Engine Optimization?

SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It is a process of improving your website or page in such a way that it ranks higher and higher in search engine results. But that is the meaning of technology. In simple terms, it is a process of creating your website and content in such a way that whenever someone asks a question in your niche or category, you show up in top results.

Three ways to drive traffic;

Suppose you were writing a topic or post on your website or blog. You now have three ways to drive visitors to your article or post.

    The first is to share it on social media. Now if you are a person with great social following you can call tons of visitors to your posts. But if you do not have a large number of followers you will not get a few visitors to your blog.
    The second way to drive traffic to your blog is to play ads. But also if you want to drive a good amount of traffic through ads, you have to burn a good amount of money you have invested again. You want a good amount of traffic but you also don't want to spend any money. What, then, is the solution?

The solution is the third method which is SEO when search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo send traffic to your website. But here we will talk about Google only.

     Because it processes more than 3.5 billion searches every single day. And with 92% of the global market share, Google owns the world of search engines. Now imagine how much free traffic you can get on your website or blog if you can rank high on Google.

Important points about SEO;

But with all these good things, there is something about SEO that you should keep in mind. SEO is a time-consuming process. With all this competition you can't expect to be ranked in the top results in a few days. It can take weeks or months to get rid of high search engine results. With a highly competitive keyword, it can take years. SEO is a very big topic and it is not possible to discuss it in a single topic. ( Click here )
How does SEO work?

Google has over 200 different options for determining whether to list specific content. You start by submitting a Site Map for your website to the Google Search Console, formerly known as Google Webmaster.

What is a site map?

Whenever you read a book, you will see that there is an indication at the end or at the beginning of the book. Sitemap is like an index of your website. With these Sitemaps, Google points to your website on its website.

What is the Google Search Console?

A Google web tool or service that lets you direct your website to Google websites. With the Google Search Console, you can read and understand why your website does good or bad in natural results. Similar to Google Search Console, Bing has Bing Webmaster and Yahoo has Yahoo Webmaster. After submitting a site map, Google begins collecting data about your website with the help of search engines.

What are detectives?

As the name suggests, these are the bots that crawl your website and collect data about your website. And with this data, Google's algorithm determines whether your content should be high or not.

But surprisingly, no one really knows how Google's algorithm works. According to clearchengineland.com, 500 to 600 updates are made to Google's algorithm each year. That means at least one daily update. Some of these changes are very large while others are so small that people do not notice.

At Google, users always come first. So, if your content is good enough to satisfy users' questions and needs, your rating will start to rise automatically. But again, it is a slow process and you need to be patient to see the results.
Different types of SEO

Now let’s learn the different types of SEO. SEO can be divided into three different categories: On-page SEO, Off-Page SEO, and Professional SEO. And each of them is a great topic in itself. So, in the title video, we’ll just see each of them briefly.

On-page SEO

You adjust the content of your webpage or website to rank higher in search results. Basically, it contains content that you can modify to improve.

For example;

    Improving meta title, meta description, titles, URL, page content, and other features. All this is in your hands.

So, you take actions and prepare yourself, such as entering keywords in meta tags and URLs. All these changes are made on the website or web page which is why it is called On-Page SEO.

Off-page SEO

Includes external features and actions that affect your ranking in search results.

For example;

    Backlinks to your website or webpage. Or social media like how many people share your content. Backlinks are a very important factor in SEO.

However, you cannot control whether someone wants to link to your website or not. Similarly, you cannot control how many people will share your content. And since all of these are things that are not under your control and are published outside the website, it is called Off-Page SEO.

Professional SEO

As you guessed the word, it contains all the technical aspects of SEO. Professional SEO includes features such as page speed, site maps, errors like broken links, etc. A lot
